What is BGS?
The Brasil Game Show is an annual Brazilian video game convention. Latin America’s largest annual event, BGS covers many aspects of gaming.
Between developers, publishers, gamers YouTubers and renowned technology companies, casual gamers and hardcore gamers have plenty to enjoy.
The history of the Brasil Game Show
Today, BGS and PAX are the most important annual conventions not only in America, but also internationally.
The very first Brasil Game Show took place on June 21, 2009. Organized in Rio de Janeiro, the event was imagined by business leader Marcelo Tavares.
A great fan of video games, Mr. Tavares considers himself the greatest Brazilian collector of video games.
With its long history in mainstream gaming, it might be right.
Producer and host of a video game-themed television show, Game News, in 2003, Mr. Tavares has retained his love of gaming over the decades.
He extended his work to magazines and newspapers. The BGS was the logical continuation of his passion.
The first convention hosted approximately 4,000 people. The next event raised the bar to 8,000 people, and the 2011 show attracted over 60,000 visitors.
Over time, the Brasil Game Show has continued to evolve, now attracting hundreds of thousands of attendees.
With so many enthusiastic players, the convention began to attract more and more well-known names from the industry.
Is RGS the same as BGS?
In a sense, yes. RGS, or Rio Game Show, was the original name of the convention. Organized in Rio de Janeiro, this name made sense at the time.
Following the move to a new city, the convention adopted a name that could apply wherever the convention went.
That’s why the name changed to Brasil Game Show, which also reflects its expanded reach.
How much is the entry ?
As is often the case with large events, the cost of Brasil Game Show tickets varies. Depending on the day and the level of access desired, tickets range from 14.98 to 711.48 euros .

When does the BGS take place?
This fall is packed with gaming industry events. Hot on the heels of EGX which takes place at the end of September, the Brasil Game Show 2022 runs from October 6-12 .
Most BGS tournaments are held annually in October, but there may be exceptions.
The lounge is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily , which means visitors can spend nine hours there a day.

While the original convention was held in Rio de Janeiro, the new Brasil Game Show is taking place in São Paulo.
Specifically, the event is located at Expo Center Norte, Rua José Bernardo Pinto 333 02055-000 São Paulo.
The BGS closely follows another game show, the Tokyo Game Show , which took place from September 15 to 18, 2022.
